GD Goenka La Petite-Montesorri, New Delhi
The La Petite approach towards early childhood education focuses on learning by doing, mixed age group learning and individualized learning. With some of the main objectives of design focusing on creating spaces for self expression & collaboration, reading & learning with active & quiet zones, the approach was to assimilate the spaces to cater to the educational needs of children between ages 2 and 6. This has led to the design of an early years centre which is naturally daylit, thermally comfortable, eco friendly and ergonomically appropriate for the users. The muted colours which highlight the timber & white base palette is very soothing for the occupants. Acoustics has been addressed by means of wall coverings, soft flooring & perforated ceilings. The overall design has been woven together through pastel colours, as well as varied materials and textures, which not only stimulate the young minds but also help in various tactile and sensory skills.
You are a key to Pathways.
“You are a key to Pathways. It was you who gave Pathways its identity. Your contribution and help can never fade. You are, and shall always be, a very active member of the ‘think-tank’ of the school. We fully acknowledge and greatly appreciate your association and contributions at all stages. Believe me, you have built a long list here of your followers and admirers.
